360 for $100

November 26th, 2006

Heads up. Rumor mill has it that Microsoft dropped the price of the 360 core system to $100. This is just the minimum price that a reseller can sell them for, so it won’t be a widespread all of a sudden drop. But I can tell you this. I’m scouring the world looking for them. Amazon had a promo already for the core for $100, but with only 1000 units, they clearly sold out instantly. So, if I find any place selling them for $100, I’ll be sure to post a picture of it in my living room.

Jagshemash!!!

November 4th, 2006

Borat, the latest character of Sacha Cohen to be turned into a movie, was released today. (Well, now it’s yesterday, but it was today when I started writing this. I swear.) Naturally, my roommate and I went to go see it with a few friends. So, into a mostly sold out theater we go, and we end up sitting near the front, way off on the far side. Fortunately enough Borat doesn’t have any high def graphics that you just gotta see on the big screen. (In fact there’s things I’d rather not see that big). Even though going to a big screen isn’t necessary, it’s definitely worth it for the previews. The local Regal Cinema is sporting the latest Gears of War Trailer. I had recently downloaded and watched the high-def trailer from GameTrailers.com. However, even my 24″ comes nowhere close to a movie theater. Now if only we could play games on a screen that big.

As for Borat, continue reading for my impressions. Read the rest of this entry »

SimStalker (aka Sneak King) releases trailer

November 3rd, 2006

I first heard about the King’s games from some IGN podcast. And even though I don’t have an 360, these games almost make me wish I did. From the screen shots, the game looked priceless, and the trailer for Sneak King just makes it that much better. It seems that the plot is that you’re supposed to sneak around, and ‘help’ hungry people by shoving ever-so-appetizing Burger King in their face. It definitely delivers in the same creepy way that we’ve been lead to expect from the King. Kudos to Burger King for what looks to be one of the best promo games ever.
Download the trailer here. (I’ll stream videos eventually when I get around to it)
